James Barnard
James Barnard is the Music Editor for Growing in Grace Children’s Music Resources. Prior to Growing in Grace, James was the Church Choral Editor for Shawnee Press/Hal Leonard for eight years where he edited and produced hundreds of choral and keyboard publications.
Growing In Grace: Since its first release in 2012, Growing in Grace’s children’s music curriculum has grown to serve over 1,500 churches in 40 states and internationally. Additionally, Growing in Grace began to offer a variety of resources including anthems, collections, hymn studies, and more to serve churches and schools of every size and skill. Growing in Grace and its ever-expanding community of users are committed to transforming the lives of children and growing the love of God through music!
Andrea Barnard
With over 20 years of experience teaching music, Andrea Barnard has a passion for seeing her students succeed. She holds degrees in vocal performance and education and has worked with all ages in both school and church settings. When she’s not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, composing, and serving the church and community.
Sandy Lewis
Sandy has taught many workshops and conferences around the Southeast. She is a retired school teacher having taught music for 37 years. She has taught all ages of children’s choirs, currently preschool. In conjunction with teaching school, she is the Music Associate at FBC Brandon, Florida, for 33 years, coordinating the Wednesday night TeamKID program which includes preschool and children’s choirs. She plays the piano for the church plus accompanies school choirs and soloists for Festivals. She is married to Kevin Lewis and they have 2 grown children.
Carrie Audra DeLong
Carrie Audra DeLong serves as the Preschool and Kids’ Choir Associate for Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, AL. She studied Music Education at Union University before receiving a BS from Tennessee Tech University. She has experience teaching music in both private and public school settings and has taught graded choirs in churches for more than 20 years. Carrie and her husband James have a son, Ronin, and a daughter, Bianca who are both growing into a singing faith, by worshiping weekly in preschool and pre-teen choirs.
Whitney Head
Whitney Head teaches K-5 music at Elizabeth Elementary School in Shelby, North Carolina. She enjoys working to provide a loving, joy-filled and creative space for her students to make music. She strives to create curriculum that is relevant, fun, and engaging. Whitney is also involved at Parkwood Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC, where she teaches an ESL class. Before moving to North Carolina and beginning teaching full-time, Whitney worked in music ministry for several years in Alabama and also served as a missionary in El Salvador for two years. She earned a Master’s degree in Music Education from Samford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Church Music from Samford as well. When she is not teaching music, Whitney enjoys finding new coffee shops, being outside, playing tennis, eating tacos, and spending time with family and friends.
